Ascertain Forensics at Redwood Toxicology Laboratory is led by Dr. Laureen Marinetti. The laboratory is supported by several American Board of Forensic Toxicology (ABFT) certified toxicologists and technical analysts, an advanced research and development team, and extensive global laboratory resources. Dr. Laureen Marinetti received her Bachelor of Science degree in Forensic Science in 1983, and Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Forensic Science in 1991—both from Michigan State University. During her doctoral studies, she received a Forensic Toxicology Fellowship from the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office in Detroit, Michigan.

Dr. Marinetti has been board certified by the ABFT as a Fellow since 2007 and serves as both an onsite and off-site inspector for the ABFT. She has authored several peer reviewed publications, monographs, and book chapters in forensic toxicology. During her career she received several awards, is a nationally recognized lecturer, and is an expert witness in analytical and interpretive forensic toxicology and pharmacology.

Dr. Marinetti is the current President of the California Association of Toxicologists and has testified as an expert witness hundreds of times in both blood alcohol and drug related impairment and interpretation of postmortem cases.
